The digital objects included in the Digital Library are publicly available from any computer with internet access. Copyrighted digital objects of works are available on the internal computer networks of National Library of Latvia and Partners.
If a file for download is attached to the digital object, the user of the digital library is allowed to download and reproduce it (those are non-copyrighted printed works and other documents that the copyright holders have given permission to make available to the public).

Non-registered and registered users of the Digital Library may republish and share digital objects on their social networks providing a reference to the Digital Library and the keeper of the original.
The copyright for the works included in the Digital Library belongs to the copyright holders of the works (authors or their successors). Users of the Digital Library are obliged to respect the rights of copyright holders in accordance with the provisions of the Copyright Law.
Before using digital objects for commercial purposes, it is necessary to contact the keeper of the original to ascertain the conditions for its use.

Users of the Digital Library can perform Basic search, Advanced search, as well as search in the non-digitized (traditional) collection of the National Library of Latvia. It is possible to conveniently sort the content found.

It is possible to register as a Digital Library user by creating a Digital Library user account or by logging into the Digital Library system with one of the virtual identity verification methods offered in the internet environment.
Registered users of the Digital Library have the opportunity to save search results, create personalized lists of search results, pay for “Digitization on demand”.

The request for digitization applies only to digital objects of the collection of the National Library of Latvia, which are not copyright-protected, or if the copyright holders have given permission to make them available to the public.
The undigitized content (traditional stock) of the National Library of Latvia can be digitized by submitting a request for digitization.
