Digitization on demand

The National Library of Latvia (NLL) offers to digitize publications or parts of them from the library’s collection, and obtain high resolution files of digital objects.

Digitization on demand is a paid service, which, depending on the volume ordered, is completed within 5-10 working days.

The user has the right to receive a digital copy of the publication from the materials of the NLL collection and to use it in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and the Copyright Law of the Republic of Latvia.

The service applies to the works that are not copyrighted and is provided according to the technological capabilities of NLL, so in some cases the provision of the service may be approved partially or refused.

NLL does not own copyright for works and cannot grant permission to use copyrighted works. The user must obtain the permission of the author or holder of the rights to use such works. NLL reserves the right to require the User to present the permission received before approving the service.

The user has the right to receive a digital copy from the materials of the NLL collection and to use it in compliance with the Copyright Law of the Republic of Latvia.

Ordering digital files

This service is available to registered users of the Digital Library.

Log in to start or Start for already registered users.

• Fill out the form and press the “Save” button, the order appears in your Shopping cart, where you can edit it, and add more objects.
• Go to your Shopping cart and confirm the order by pressing the “Order” button. Your order has become “Pending” and is available in the “Order history” section in your profile.
• Wait for order confirmation or message from an NLL employee. When your order status changes to “Approved”.
• If the deadline exceeds the specified 5-10 days working days, the NLL employee will contact you.

Pay for Digitization on demand

• After the order status changes to “Approved”, you will receive an invoice generated by the system.
• Pay the service invoice and wait for the order to be fulfilled.  Once your order has reached the status “Complete”, you can download the ordered files.
