Recordings of the Latvian Television programme series "Labvakar" (1988-1994)

Autochrome was an early color photography process invented and patented in 1903 by Auguste and Louis Lumière, French photographic equipment manufacturers. The Lumière brothers were also widely known as one of the first short film makers. Autochrome plates were first sold by the Lumière brothers in 1907 and remained the primary color photographic process until the mid-1930s when color film was developed. Eduards Gaiķis is considered the most famous Latvian photographer to use autochromes.

The National Library of Latvia stores photographs of the newspaper Diena and its supplements from 1996 to 2008. The National Library of Latvia holds a unique collection of ex-libris of Latvian artists with around 4,000 items from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. The postcards in Konrāds Ubāns’ art collection of the National Library of Latvia contain examples from the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. There are postcards in the typography or photography technique, published both abroad and in Latvia, and obtained both as gifts and as compulsory copies. The collection includes books, articles printed during the lifetime of Gotthard Friedrich Stender (1714-1796), the founder of Latvian secular writing, as well as preserved manuscripts. The collection was created via cooperation of a wide range of cultural and memory institutions storing evidence of Latvia's industrial heritage. It contains information on more than 100 Latvian enterprises. The content of the collection will be continuously supplemented with new digital items. In a way, the collection is dedicated to the entrepreneurship and the creative talents of Latvians.

The collection contains the rules and regulations of the World Federation of Free Latvians (WFFL) and subsequent amendments from the founding of the organisation in the 1950s up to the present day, reflecting the development of the organisation's activities. The collection also includes photographs of WFFL Board meetings from 2003 to the present, as well as photographs of current events in 2023.
